Okay guys this is the page that shows you my daily favourite photo all of these photo's will be ones that I have taken myself and will have a bit about why I have taken them and also a fact about the horse or whatever is going on in the picture! This is to help me build up a collection of my best photographs for when I need to go to Derby University for my Interview to do a three year photography course i think. So this will give you a chance to learn about the horses but also my photography skills, I hope you enjoy, and if you want to ask me anything to do with any of the pictures feel free to do so!
Tuesday June 26th Photo. So this is the first photo, this was taken at Broomfield College on the 17th of June 2012, and is of a horse called Murphy. Murphy belongs to Andrea, and is one of the greenest horses at the school but still looks like good fun to ride although I have never rode him. This photo was taken because it was Broomfield's open day, and were taken for fun but also for the students to use. I really like this picture because I like the fact that he is the main focus in the picture you can see the other horses but they are more blurred, Also because I really like all the colours that you can see on him.
Wednesday June 17th Photo. So once again today's photo is another head shot but this time it is of Gatsby, this was also taken on broomfield open day and he is another of the colleges horses he is also a loan horse and belongs to someone called Jenny. Gatsby is a 17hh Irish Draught horse and I think he is 13 or 12 (cant remember which) years old. I really like this picture because I like the contrast in colours, between the brown almost black of Gatsby and the bright white of the school and other riders, I also really like this photo because he's in focus and like the picture before the background is blurry.
Thursday July 5th Photo. This photo was taken by mum in my last riding lesson (last saturday) when we were doing cross country on Gatsby, this was my first ever time doing cross country and I am glad that i got to ride Gatsby to do it because at first I was nervous but then as the lesson went on I got more in to the hang of things and ended up really enjoying it. I adore this picture because all though my position isn't perfect, my legs too far back and my crops not where it should be but I love the lighting on this photo, and thing that it looks really effective.

Monday 16th June 2012. This is another photo that I have taken however I can not give you information about the horse in this picture as it was taken at Derbyshire County Show in June. I really like this picture because it is a moment that catches the horse with his/her ears forward, and stretched with all four hoofs off the ground, I also really like it because you can see several different colour shades. I also like it because you can clearly see the position that the rider is in.
Saturday 28th July 2012. This photo was one that I have taken and it was taken the second day that I had got my camera. It is a photo of my friend Matt's horse with two of his other in the background. I really like this photo because it has an eery, almost mystical, spooky look and feel to it! I love the colours in the background (the sky) as predominately this is a Black and White picture although it was shot in colour, but I do love the tones and shades of purple that you can see in the sky. If i was to do it again I think I would try and get the horse in a better angle and outline because I think that this one looks quite awkward.
Sunday 29th July 2012. So this was one of the first photo's that I ever took on my Canon camera that I quickly fell in love with! My horses mean the world to me and I love this picture. First I'll tell you about this picture, it was taken at Broomfield College and was owned y one of the Great British Under 16 Riders! My mum and I really liked the colour of this horse and were fascinated by its movement. That day I took over 400 pictures of horses! I really like this picture because the background also the rider partially are blurred. So the main focus is on the horse and the eye is drawn to the horse not what is going on around the horse. To this day 7 months later I still feel that this is one of the best pictures I have ever taken!
Tuesday 8th January 2013.So todays picure is something that photographically speaking isn't the best photograph that I have ever taken, the composition could be better, there's so many things that really could be better about this but at the same time there is something about this photo that I love, and that is the innocence. I think what I love is that not only is the photographing skills not perfect neithers the riding. These girls have only been riding a few weeks but you can tell especially the one on the grey (Rascal) how much she's enjoying it, I also love it because it is a true working shot!
Thats an awesome photo :)!
ReplyDeletethank youuu :) x
DeleteYou are a good photography. One of my favorite photos is probably the one taken at night. The purple sky contrasts so nicely against the white on the pinto horse. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm glad you enjoy my passion! The picture your talking about was taken the first night that I had my new camera but it is still one of my all time favourite photographs!
